Pokémon Go is causing a lot of issues around the world. From injuries to deaths, the game comes with adversity and harm. In the town of Newmarket in Ontario, Canada, more harm was nearly done to Pokémon Go players.

A 29 year-old woman fired shots at two Pokémon Go players on Saturday night [July 23]. A call came in to law enforcement around 10:30 PM, reporting that two Pokémon Go Players were being shot at. Police eventually arrived on the scene to find a woman on a roof hold a pellet gun. Confiscating the pellet gun, officials took the suspect into her apartment building.

York Regional Police released a statement on Monday morning [July 25] stating the following: “It is believed that the suspect fired at least four shots at the people playing Pokemon Go, but none were struck and there were no injuries.”

Police reminded the public to remain safe while playing the game and to pay attention to all surroundings. Also to pay attention to the road, as it can be more dangerous while driving. “Police would like to remind members of the public and players that any distraction while walking on or near roadways can be hazardous,” York police stated.

Twenty nine year old Patricia Champagne was charged with possession of a weapon and assault with a weapon on Monday morning [July 25].
