Mac Miller kept dropping hints throughout the week about new music. We knew something was happening today [July 28, 2016], we just didn’t know it involved Anderson .Paak.
The rapper visited Zane Lowe and Beats 1 to premiere his new track, “Dang!” which leans closer to Anderson .Paak’s style. It gives off a 70s vibe with groovy beats and is much softer than what we’re used to from Miller.
Miller also told Lowe a new album was on the way, The Divine Feminine. Come September, he will have features from Kendrick Lamar, Robert Glasper and CeeLo Green. Miller’s last album GO:OD AM racked up guests like Miguel, Chief Keef, Ab-Soul and Little Dragon when it debuted in September 2015. Lowe promised there will be more features in the follow-up.
