The movie follows four inner-city Cleveland teens who are looking to turn their passion for skateboarding into a full blown career.

Steve Caple Jr., who is new to the directing game, has some serious support backing his debut film with Nas as the executive producer and other standout soundtrack features from Kanye West, Pusha T, French Montana, Erykah Badu, and Jeremiah.

The movie is set to hit stores and stream starting today [July 29]. Caple revealed that the story behind The Land is a reflection of his own life. “Originally, I was inspired by my own upbringing. The lead character of the film is Cisco (which is my cousin’s name) and the good-kid of the group is Boobie (which is my nickname). These characters share experiences onscreen that Cisco and I shared in real-life. I was the kid who could get good grades, went to college, and did everything in my power NOT to become like those around me.”

Caple’s journey and vision is depicted by young talent who are making their debut on film. However, there are seasoned veterans gracing the screen who are giving it an authentic feel that every great coming-of-age tale is made of.

With Cleveland as the back-drop and some of the hottest artists in Hip Hop contributing their talents to the soundtrack, The Land sounds like a promising film that is soon to make an impression on a generation of dreamers.
