Dave East has quietly had a pretty strong 2016, and that will likely only get better with the release of his new mixtape, Kairi Chanel, which is due some time this summer. Outside of his #EastMix series and other loosies, East made an appearance on DJ Drama’s Quality Street Music 2 album last month, and closed out “Body For My Zipcode,” a collaboration with Compton’s Young Life and noted wordsmith Freddie Gibbs, with a scene-stealing verse that will distress rewind buttons all season.

To further tease his forthcoming mixtape, East has dropped a new original banger today, “Nothin’ Bout Nothin,” which you can listen to below. If you’re not sure what to make of the title, allow Jadakiss’ verse on ScHoolboy Q’s “Groovy Tony” to explain.
