YG and DJ Mustard have an intricate relationship, one that produced one of the better rap debuts in recent history, YG’s My Krazy Life in the spring of 2014. Months after the release of the album, the potent rapper and producer had a very public falling out, in which they went so far as in to pitch light threats at each other over social media. Mustard claimed he wasn’t receiving proper compensation from YG’s label, Def Jam, and anyone familiar with the music industry knows that’s enough to drive a wedge in between the tightest bunch of friends.

The saga continued earlier this year when it became apparent that Mustard wouldn’t be involved in the making of YG’s highly-anticipated sophomore effort, Still Brazy. Both artists maintained that there was no bad blood stemming from their brief 2014 feud, but for whatever reason, their collaborative efforts had ceased.

That said, Instagram pictures of the two posing together began surfacing, which seemed to point to the fact that everything was still all good between the childhood friends. That sentiment is strengthened today as YG and Mustard have announced 400 Summers, a collaborative mixtape that’s on the horizon.
