Friday morning [August 19] one person is dead and multiple others are injured after two New Jersey Transit buses collided at a Newark intersection.
It was around 6 a.m. local time that one of the buses T-boned the other at North Broad Street and Raymond Boulevard, leaving one of the vehicles seemingly broken in half, while glass and debris were scattered around the scene
While the number of passengers on the bus remain unclear, all were evacuated by 7 a.m. Victims of the crash could be seen laying on the sidewalk while others were carried out on stretchers.

According to an unnamed emergency response official, the victim killed in this horrific incident was one of the drivers of the two buses. At least 19 people have taken to local hospitals.
Shortly after the crash, New Jersey Transit announced public transportation delays in service downtown.
An investigation surrounding the cause and moments leading up to the crash is currently pending.
