New York rapper Young M.A. has a bonafide boom-bap hit on her hands with “Ooouuu,” the latest Brooklyn upstart to gain national attention on the mixtape circuit. M.A., who has followed “Ooouuu” with formidable bangers like “Summer Story,” is celebrating the success of her hit and it’s signature line–“You call her Stephanie? I call her Headphanie”–across the country. (We can’t help but point out how analagous this is to the success of Bobby Shmurda‘s “Hot N*gga,” powered by a signature call-and-response of it’s own–“Just caught a body ’bout a week ago [week ago].)
That celebration includes seeing French Montana hop on the remix to the banger, which he’s done today, a welcomed compensation for the fact that his sophomore LP, MC4, due out on August 19, was delayed once again.
