Beyoncé’s performance at Sunday night’s MTV Video Music Awards cannot be duplicated, but Stephen Colbert did his best parody on Monday’s The Late Show.
“I had to climb out the window just to get to work this morning,” he recited, spoofing the opening lines of Lemonade. Colbert then panicked after be engulfed by flames like those that appeared during the singer’s pyrotechnic-laden set.
His skit comes after Beyoncé’s massive VMAs sweep, which saw the singer take home eight awards, including Video of the Year for “Formation.”
