Within the past year alone, a monopoly of athletes and celebrities have expressed their take on The Black Lives Matter movement, as well as police brutality as a whole. The most recent athlete to give their take on the issues at hand is none other than reigning NBA champion LeBron James. James addressed his concerns at NBA Media Day.

First and foremost, James made it clear that not all police officers were “bad,” and expressed his concerns regarding the violence stemming from police brutality. James simply stated, “It’s a scary ass situation.” He went into how he’s afraid of his son getting pulled over when he got his license.

LeBron is not afraid to cut to the chase and speak his mind; something all professional athletes should do as role models for today’s youth. For those unaware, him, Dwyane Wade, Chris Paul, and Carmelo Anthony addressed the country’s violence while they opened up the ESPY’s. This powerful speech was delivered shortly after the killings of Alton Sterling, Philando Castle, and five Dallas police officers.
