If you haven’t heard Common’s “Letter To The Free” already, get on that! His absolutely beautiful, woke, and poetic verses featuring Bilal put us in dire need of a new album from the OG emcee. Luckily, we only have a few more weeks to wait, according to iTunes.

Judging by the singles of the album, we can expect to be lyrically saved by Black America Again as Common shoots out lines like, “The color of my skin, they comparing it to sin/The darker it gets, the less fairer it has been.” Marsha Ambrosius, John Legend, Stevie Wonder, Tasha Cobs, Syd, and Bilal hopped on the 15-track album, which is expected to drop in less than a month [Friday, November 4].

Last month, Common released the first singles “Black America Again” with Stevie Wonder and samples of James Brown, and “Love Star” with Marsha Ambrosius ad PJ. And yesterday [Friday, October 14] came the cover art as well as single “Letter To The Free”:

Pride of the pilgrims affect lives of millions
Since slave days separating, fathers from children
Institution ain’t just a building
But a method, of having black and brown bodies fill them
We ain’t seen as human beings with feelings
Will the U.S. ever be us? Lord willing!
For now we know, the new Jim Crow
They stop, search and arrest our souls

If anyone knows how to make thought-provoking music, it’s definitely Common! Stayed tuned for more Black America Again news to come.
