A lot of newer hip-hop fans might only know DJ Envy as one of the hosts of The Breakfast Club radio show although this is just one of the many hats that Envy wears or has worn during his years in hip-hop. Some might not remember that back in the late 90’s and through the early 2000’s Envy was heavy in the mixtape game.

One of his most critically acclaimed mixtapes at during that stretch was a collaboration he did with fellow NY mixtape legend DJ Clue titled “Desert Storm Mixtape Vol. 1”. This tape featured everyone from Nas and Jay-Z at the height of their feud, to Fabolous, Joe Budden, and even a track from 50 Cent before he blew up to become the superstar he is today.

At this point both of their legacy’s in the culture are already solidified but it’s a tweet that Envy sent out early yesterday morning (10/20) that has the hip-hop world wondering if a reunion mixtape between the two vets is on the horizon.

Envy tweeted “Meek Mill, Beans, Eminem, Game, Nicki, 50, I’m loving all this new music & freestyles…Some 1 get @DJCLUE on the phone…let’s do a mixtape.”

Clue has yet to respond but if he decides to get on board than fans could be in for a treat. Their track records speak for themselves and if Envy and Clue get back on their collaboration grind we might be in store for a lot of new heat.

Also, for any fans interested in another one of Envy’s current ventures be sure to check out his new podcast he does with his wife called “The Casey Crew”. It’s about relationships and family.
