The note says that after the Tribe reunited on The Tonight Show last year, their first TV performance in 18 years, they hit the studio to make new music. But as we know, Phife Dawg, who struggled with type 2 diabetes, passed away earlier this year. The note says that Phife was able to contribute to this upcoming project and left them with enough material to continue making the album.

Seeing as Phife passed away, Tip says in the note that they brought in Busta Rhymes and Consequence to help with the project, and that this would be the final album from A Tribe Called Quest. At the end of the note he says that the album will be dropping November 11th, so clear your schedule for that weekend, because this is sure to be an emotional experience listening to Phife’s final bars.
