Uncle Rush developed a love for yoga and a new daily routine, but said he couldn’t “find a place where teachers are deeply studied.” So he founded Tantris in hopes of going beyond the commercialized poses and deep breaths to the actual science and Indian Scriptures rooted in the practice itself.

Thus, he has high expectations for the studio’s instructors. Since he can’t teach himself—he has no license to do so, he told the New York Times—he is training the gurus on early yoga texts. “By the time they finish, the teacher will be vegan or not, and if they’re not, they won’t teach with us. Some of them won’t be able to pass our teacher training.”
With all the success Simmons has had in several ventures, we are eager to see what Tantris holds for him.
