The wave is always free, right? That’s the mantra that New Orleans creative collective Free Water stands by. As 2016 comes to a close, by now, Free Water has pretty much collaborated with all of your favorite artists. Volume 4 shows them highlighting the careers of Birdman’s newest Rich Gang, Freshmen all stars, Neno Calvin & BTY Youngn, Free Water’s own Mhadi G with his hit single, “Stop”, and someone who’s no stranger to New Orleans culture, G Eazy. The way Free Water captures each of these individuals, in the true essence of their beings, shows why so many artist turn to them to bring their art to life.

I think that it’s safe to say that Birdman has found his next 2 stars.

When you think New Orleans rap, you think flash, larger than life lyrics…stunting. Who better to find the next wave of stunnas, than the #1 stunna himself? Baby. In Neno Calvin, and BTY Youngn, it seems as though Birdman has discovered just that.

Neno Calvin: If by now you haven’t heard the Uptown, 3rd Ward, Magnolia, New Orleans, LA rapper, who has taken the city by storm, then it’s imperative you climb from under whatever rock it is that you’re inevitably under. Everyone from kids to adults secondline through the streets of New Orleans rapping, “F**k my beef, I got that ratchet on me”, from Neno Calvin’s breakthrough “Ritz Carlton Freestyle” that set him aside as one of New Orleans’ prime time players. In Free Water Vol. 4, Neno Calvin is truly being himself, as Free Water often does, they turn home videos into timeless movies, and Vol. 4 was no different. Boldly, I want to say that this collaboration will go through the roof in 2017, with Rich Gang backing, Neno Calvin’s exceptional skill set, Free Water’s cutting edge technology, and ability, the viewers/listeners will continue to come in flocks. Neno Calvin plans to release ‘Calvinism 3’ soon, Nenola.

BTY Youngn: Fresh off of a studio session with Chris Brown, BTY’s life seems to be moving at a rapid pace. Featured in Vol.4 delivering another hard hitting freestyle, I’m not sure if there’s anyone who enjoys rapping as much as BTY Youngn right now, and it seems as though Birdman feels the same way about Young Stunna. Young Stunna, sound familiar? Another Hollygrove rapper took on a name deeming himself Birdman’s protege, when Lil Wayne emerged from the 17th as Birdman J.R. The similarities are there, but BTY is certainly his own, unique creature. Metaphors for years, an aggressive rap style, a journeyman story, and a personality that can’t be rivaled. BTY has the total package, and now with a Rich Gang backing, that should eventually draw him away from street life, BTY Youngn may be setting himself up for a load of success.

Mhadi G is Free Water to death.

Mhadi G has now put out a string of hits including: “Stop”, “Call Log”, and “Miss Me”, and he doesn’t seem to be slowing up. As one of the faces of the Free Water brand, Mhadi G embodies what this dope collective stands for, which is, having the time of your life, and knowing that “The wave is always free..”. Mhadi G looks, sounds, and demeanors himself as a star, and I think that same energy attracts itself to him. He’s ultimately one of the most important components to the success of Free Water. If you’re an artist out there, and you want your song to T’up even more during performances, I have one simple solution for you, tap Mhadi G for a feature…and just because the wave is free, doesn’t mean the feature will be..ha.

G Eazy is no stranger to New Orleans.

New Orleans loves G Eazy, and based on Vol. 4 it seems as though G Eazy loves New Orleans back. See, G Eazy spent time in New Orleans during his college days, and the bond has been strong ever since. Free Water managed to capture this bond, and the energy radiates off of your screen. Free Water is perfect for these moments, the way that they capture an artist, in relation to the room he/she is in, or the way they capture an artist on stage, backstage, they bring the authenticity out of moments. They nailed this during G Eazy’s segments in Vol.4, and they nail this every single time.

The wave is always FREE.
