The Toronto native experimented on Views, with some songs putting aside traditional hip hop stylings and heavily taking notes from the Caribbean as well as breaching afrobeat and funk. Like in the past, he also lends a little bit of crooning to his music. In all, these types of songs have been gaining the higher acclaim from charts to awards in comparison to the rest of the album as well of Drake’s career. “One Dance” is his only song to peak at No. 1 and spent the most weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 with “Hotling Bling” having peaked at No. 2. Both songs have appeared on charts for pop, R&B, and hip hop. And “Hotline Bling” as well as his feature on Bajan singer Rihanna’s “Work” heavily contributed to his 2017 Grammy nominations. More hip hop in nature and also with a pretty good debut, “Pop Style” featuring The Throne (Jay Z and Kanye West) earned him an additional nomination for Best Rap Performance.

With this crossover style leading him to success, who knows what direction Drake’s future music could take?
