Fresh off of the critical acclaim of his debut mixtape, Life is Eazi, Vol. 1 – Accra to Lagos, Afrobeat rising star Mr. Eazi is set to kick off a robust North American tour with a special appearance in New York City.

The show, set to take place this weekend at Playstation Theater (Times Square), marks the first time Eazi has graced a New York City stage in a headlining-fashion – an important milestone, representative of growth, for the Starboy artist. The concert, produced by W&R Projects and AEG Live, has been billed as a musical celebration to pay homage to Ghana (where Eazi is based) one-week removed from the country’s 60th anniversary of independence.

Eazi and the unique sound that he’s cultivated – a cool & calm delivery, sandwiched between memorable hooks, over traditional instrumentation – has catapulted him into the discussion as one of the continent’s hottest musical acts.

With “Skin Tight”, “Hollup” & “Bankulize” already in tow, Mr. Eazi has developed a respectable catalog of shrewd tracks – featuring the likes of Joey b, Pappy Kojo and Sarkodie (among others). Life is Eazi builds upon this solid foundation with instant hits (“In the Morning”, “Tilapia” and my personal favorite, “Detty Yasef”), flawlessly mashed-up tracks and bonus material with the playability of surefire ‘singles’.
