Joey Bada$$ performed his new single “Land Of The Free” to The Late Show with Stephen Colbert last night (April 4). Bada$$, who took the stage draped in an American flag-patterned garment, was backed by a drummer, keyboard player, bassist and Statik Selektah.
The performance found the Pro Era emcee rapping about the legacy of American slavery, mass incarceration, political corruption on a stage with lights flashing red, white, and blue, while the backing band provided the synthesized and funky melody.
Joey’s sophomore album All-Amerikkkan Bada$$ is slated to drop this Friday (April 7), and also features contributions from ScHoolboy Q, J. Cole, Styles P, Chronixx, and more.
