Just when you thought Adrian Peterson had fans guessing he was going to New York or New England, the former NFL MVP gave fans his own version of the “fumblebrewski”. He recently informed ESPN’s Josina Anderson that he intends to sign with the New Orleans Saints for 2 years, $7 million dollars. The 7x Pro Bowl running back had this to say about the transaction and future with his new team.

I am excited to be joining the New Orleans Saints. I’m really looking forward to this opportunity. Most importantly, I chose this team because it just felt right within my spirit. Additionally, my wife and family added their confirmation with the same feelings. On offense, it goes without saying that the Saints are really solid behind Drew Brees. I feel like my skill set can make them even more dominant as a unit. They have a great offensive line, which is something that stood out to me as well. I could tell from talking to head coach Sean Payton over the last two weeks that he did his due diligence in evaluating how I could contribute.

Peterson obviously thought change is good after the Minnesota Vikings declined to pick up his $18 million dollar. After a disappointing 2016 campaign filled with the injury bug hitting him hard and a huge decline in progression, Vikings general manager Mike Freeman said “he’s done”. But the Saints see otherwise as they are planning to use AP’s powerful, aggressive run game to help Drew Brees air it out to bring back excitement in NOLA nation. After a three straight 7-9 seasons, the Saints are looking for any and all the answers to get back to becoming playoff contenders. It looks like they may have found their answer.
