The man is armed, police said, and has fired at authorities into this morning.

He’s one of two people connected with the Wednesday afternoon shooting of Cpl. Stephen J. Ballard at a nearby Wawa convenience store.

Two suspects pulled up to the store in Bear, Del., around noon Wednesday, cops said. One got out of a car, let off several shots and took off.

Ballard, 32, was struck and rushed to a hospital where he later died, Delaware State Police said.

A motive for the shooting hasn’t been disclosed.
