By reciting the lyrics to a soul song called “The Snake,” Trump played into the prejudice and anti-immigrant label.

“The Snake” is a song about a giving woman who takes in a snake whose freezing and is later bitten and killed from it. It’s being directed towards the radical Islamists whose Trump supporters think are coming into the United States as immigrants.
