During a charity show in Flint Michigan, comedian Dave Chapelle announced that he’d be donating $50,000 to the Community Foundation of Greater Flint in an effort to support and help end the growing water crisis in the area.

The money will specifically go toward children who have been exposed to the lead-ridden water of Flint, Michigan.

“I’m honored that you guys came here tonight,” he told the audience. “I want you to know that just by coming to see me you supported this city. I’m not taking a dime.”

The gesture comes in due time as Chapelle admitted, during his Netflix special, that last year he skipped out on a previous Flint benefit deciding to go to the Oscars with Chris Rock instead.
