Huge #KnicksTape fans are estatic as news got out that the bromance of James Dolan and Phil Jackson has finally ran its course. According to ESPN.com’s Ramona Shelburne, the Knicks and president of basketball operations Phil Jackson will part ways Wednesday morning.

According to sources, the decision was bound to happen since individuals who are close to Dolan have been pushing to fire Jackson for quite some time. But despite the recent decision, Dolan has quietly picked up their option on the remaining two years of his contract this spring.

Ever since Jackson was hired, the Knicks were a tragic 80-166 in three full seasons. With irrational actions being on display, such as his public dislike and interest in getting rid of Carmelo Anthony and shopping deals for rising superstar Kristaps Porzingis, Phil’s days were being numbered as the 11-time world champion was much of a snotty tyrant front office official rather than the basketball guru the hoops world once admired.

With Jackson out of the picture, will Jeff Hornacek be the next one to receive the pink slip? Only time will tell as Knicks fans are finally breathe a sigh of relief and hope that Dolan can get his act together and hire the right man to bring the Knicks back to basketball prominence.
