On Saturday, Manny Pacquaio and newcomer Jeff Horn dueled it out in front of thousands at the Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane, Australia. The fight was broadcasted via ESPN and fans worldwide were able to witness, what some may call, a “highway robbery.” Jeff Horn, a native of Brisbane, Australia, defeated Manny in unanimous decision to become the new WBO welterweight champion. The three judges scored the bout 117-111, 115-113 and 115-113 in favor of Horn, despite Manny out landing him in power and total punches. Now Manny has decided to flex his political muscles by calling on the WBO to thoroughly look into the officiating of the bout. Backing the call by the  Philippines’ Games and Amusement Board, Manny came out and had this to say about his decision:

I had already accepted the decision, but as a leader and, at the same time, fighter, I have the moral obligation to uphold sportsmanship, truth and fairness in the eyes of the public. I love boxing, and I don’t want to see it dying because of unfair decision and officiating.

With the defeat, Pacquaio’s future in the ring is up in the air as he has lost four of his last nine fights. With a rematch clause already in full effect, fight fans are anxious to see how the corruption of boxing officiating will finally be TKO’d for good.
