Hollywood has been dusting off classic films and repurposing them to appeal to millenials. Even Coming to America is getting a sequel three decades later. The latest flick set for a reboot is Charlie’s Angels.

The 2000 action comedy film based on the television series is getting reprised and there are early talks of a cast including Twilight star Kristen Stewart and Oscar-winning actress Lupita Nyong’o. Elizabeth Banks is attached as the helmsman for the movie.

The television series starred Kate Jackson, Farrah Fawcett, and Jaclyn Smith, and aired from 1976-1981. When it hit the big screen in 2000, it had more comical elements and the crime-fighting trio included Cameron Diaz, Drew Barrymore and Lucy Liu. The movie went on to make $264M at the box office and spawned the 2003 sequel Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle.

If Lupita’s role isn’t confirmed, at least we have the Netflix film starring her and Rihanna and directed by Ava Duvernay to look forward to.

The Charlie’s Angel reboot is slated for release June 7, 2019.
