Have you ever caught yourself in a web of pure nostalgia to the point where you binge watched your favorite episodes of NickToons, watched the Rugrats spinoff, All Grown Up, and had the Rugrats Movie’s catchy hit song, “Take Me There” by Mya and Blackstreet stuck in your head?
Well, have no fear because the infamous cartoon candy bar, Reptar Bar is here!
The ultimate throwback snack is coming to life after nearly 13 years of the show’s ending. The retailer FYE (For Your Entertainment) is selling the Rugrats-themed milk chocolate bar this week in approximately 250 locations, the closest locations to NYC being Ridgewood, New York, and New Jersey. The bars will hold true to turning tongues green as seen in the show. FYE is an entertainment retail store, which sells products including technology, pre-owned music, movies, games, and more. Along with Reptar Bars, Reptar Cereal, which has many comparisons to Fruit Loops, is also available for purchase online with its “Monster flavor in every bite” slogan.
The Nickelodeon hit cartoon show first aired August 11, 1991 and aired its last episode on August 1st, 2004. Many will remember the quirky character Angelica Pickles, who was known for eating Reptar bars constantly. Many 90’s babies on Twitter were ecstatic about the Rugrats-themed bars, and showed their utmost appreciation for the cartoon staple snack being a dream come true. Several passionate Twitter users claimed the Reptar bars being sold in real life was long overdue, and should have been released while the animated television series was still running.

In 1998, Hip-Hop artist and pioneer Busta Rhymes was the voice behind the fictional green, Godzilla-like dinosaur toy along with Levi Curl and did the voice for the character during the Rugrats Movie. Known for his lime green skin, red eyes, and sky blue scales, Reptar became a household name with his iconic wagon that became his chariot throughout the episodes. Here’s a short clip to refresh your memory.
Be sure to get a taste of the green-frosting filled Reptar Bars before they’re gone at a FYE store near you.
