Lights! Cameras! Hip-Hop! Last Sunday, October 8th, the Universal Hip Hop Museum hosted its inaugural black tie fundraising gala and banquet at the elegant Eastwood Manor in the Bronx, NY. The event was hosted by Hot 97’s Shani Kulture.

Featuring entertainment from DJ Knuckles and Urban Opera House this official unveiling of the Universal Hip Hop Museum proved to be an outstanding showcase of the culture.

As current Chair of Fundraising and Development for the museum, Renee Foster expressed that it was “time to show the world that Hip-Hop is united.” The Universal Hip Hop Museum will be a “cultural anchor in this exciting waterfront development project” with a permanent location nestled in the birthplace of Hip-Hop, the South Bronx. The development will also feature high-quality public open spaces, hundreds of permanent affordable housing units, a state-of-the-art multiplex theater and more.

Founded by hip hop pioneers, the Universal Hip Hop Museum’s mission is to “preserve our proud history; educate a worldwide audience on the five elements of Hip-Hop; and honor the trailblazers who paved the way.”

The opening of the museum is just around the corner in the year 2020 and we cannot wait!
