Six games into what was shaping up as a  possible run toward his third MVP, Aaron Rodgers was carted to the locker room in the first quarter of the Green Bay Packers’ game against the Minnesota Vikings.

Rodgers, who completed 2 of 4 passes for 18 yards before exiting, was evaluated in Green Bay’s medical tent and carted off the field. He suffered a broken collarbone that will sideline him for weeks, if not the remainder of the season.

Rodgers has made the Pro Bowl the past three seasons, and five of the past six seasons. He has been named an All-Pro twice (2011 and 2014) and has long been considered a top quarterback. He hasn’t missed a game since 2013.

Who Could Fill In For Rodgers?

Brett Hundley, the second year quarterback out of UCLA, has taken over as the starter. He appeared in four games last year, going 2-10 for 17 yards and one INT. He’s in line to take over as the starter should Rodgers be forced to miss any games.

Colin Kaepernick, the former quarterback of the San Francisco 49ers and a lightning rod after he started kneeling during the national anthem last season, could be an option. He grew up as a fan of the Packers. The question is, will the Packers organization go in that direction?
