On November 5th, BET’s 2017 Soul Train Awards will be taking place in Las Vegas and the scroll of nominations this year is looking pretty impressive.

Due to the wide success of her third studio album A Seat At The Table last year, Solange is in the lead for this year’s 2017 Soul Train Awards with 7 nominations which include Best R&B/Soul Female Artist along with both Video and Song of the year for her hit single “Cranes in the Sky.” It looks like her megastar sister, Beyonce will be her competitor for Video of the Year with “All Night.” Solange and Beyonce became the first pair of sisters to both have albums hit number one on the Billboard 200 in the same calendar year.

Bruno Mars is the runner-up with 6 nominations, which thrive off of his hit single “That’s What I Like” which includes a nomination for Song of the Year and a nomination for Album/Mixtape of the Year for 24k Magic.

According to BET via Billboard, Toni Braxton and SWV will be honored career achievement awards “for their longstanding careers and influence.” For her over two decades of dedication to the art of soulful music, Toni Braxton will be presented with the Don Cornelius Legend Award and SWV will be honored the Lady of Soul Award, as their melodies remained soul snatchers for R&B lovers for over 20 years.

Worthy nominations include Cardi B’s smashing chart burner “Bodak Yellow” who is currently fighting Kendrick Lamar’s “HUMBLE.” for the Rhythm and Bars Awards. May the best lyricist win.
