Renowned French artist Invader has taken his pixelated art aesthetic to Hong Kong based art gallery Over The Influence. His latest book New Mosaics of Ravenna, showcases a bold retro inspired art style.
Ravenna, Italy is a city renowned for its Paleo-Christian mosaics some dating back to the 5th and 6th century. Invader has created unique mosaics to be included with a limited number of copies of New Mosaics of Ravenna. This collector’s series of artwork is now being shown at Over The Influence until Thursday, October 26.
Hues of midnight blue, white and gold dress his signature Space Invaders figures and iconographies of archaic Byzantine art. A retro 8-bit feel is designated to each piece. Coming from a street art background, Invader has leveled up his craft.
