Teyana Taylor shared her frustration on Instagram live on Sunday October 22, after a delayed flight caused her to miss Janet Jackson’s Milwaukee State of the World tour show. But the singer was in for a surprise of a lifetime when her favorite singer and idol Janet Jackson Face Timed her after hearing about the ordeal.
Taylor made several posts on Twitter and Instagram bubbling with excitement and shock that Jackson, her idol and “Rhythm Nation” legend, contacted her. She captioned on Instagram, “You have been one of my biggest inspirations. Every last one of my shows incorporated a tribute to you! You are the reason why I LOVE THIS. Putting PASSION, LOVE & SOUL on stage and creating sexy music!”

Teyana Taylor recently paid homage to Janet Jackson during the MTV Video Music Awards by wearing the same outfit Jackson sported in 1995 when she won the VMA for Best Choreography In a Video for “Scream” with her brother Michael Jackson. Taylor took home the same award for her performance in Kanye West’s “Fade.”
