How do you remind your top opponent that you are still right behind them despite recent news that they just brought in all the ballers and shot callers?
Adidas answers this question with ease as they look forward to releasing a new rendition of two fan-favorite silhouettes: the Energy Boost and Ultra Boost Mid.
The number two brand in U.S.sports footwear is teaming up with Teaneck, NJ’s Packer Shoes and Berlin-based Solebox for a worldwide Consortium Sneaker Exchange collaboration.
The new silhouettes are inspired by Iceland’s Silfra rift, a meeting point between North America and Europe tectonic plates. The two-sneaker set is expected to retail at $180 for the Energy Boost and $240 for the Ultra Boost Mid.
Vibrant shades of blue dominate the color palette of the shoes, taking cues from the lake near the rift. Primary features include Primeknit uppers detailed patterns designed to mirror the lake’s rising air bubbles. This textured design has been applied the midsoles of both silhouettes. This shoe is built for comfort as the bubbles lead up to the sock-like opening.
Packer Shoes and Solebox must’ve paid attention in school during earth science. This unique set is packed with references to the Silfra rift’s depth chart lines as well as the longitude/latitude coordinates of each retailer’s stores throughout the uppers.
If you are a fan of the Energy Boost or Ultra Boost Mid pay attention to this exclusive drop. This collection will release first on Nov. 4 at Packer Shoes and Solebox’s store and online. If you miss out, global Consortium retailers will stock the shoes on Nov. 11.
The timing of this release is interesting considering, number 1 brand, Nike is pushing products backed by entertainment.
