Donning thick gold chains amidst the classy backdrop we’ve come to expect from Rick Ross and the Maybach Music Group imprint, Sin City rapper and MMG signed artist Yowda releases a new visual to his song “I Never Knew,” from his project Coke-A-Nomics.
The clean video acts as a warm up to a bunch of content the MMG rapper will be releasing this Winter and Spring. In the video Yowda can be seen going back and forth with a significant other arguing about infidelity and other trust issues that couples face in difficult relationships.
“That record came from an artist in Philly named Lihtz, we were in the studio vibing and the video came out real clean so now it’s just time to push the button,” Yowda said of the new video that premiered on Karen Civil’s Civil Selects Series.
Currently Yowda has been going back and forth from Los Angeles, recording in Miami with Rick Ross and taking a visit to D.C. to record and hang with recently released Fat Trel. The Vegas rapper also has a highly coveted verse from fellow MMG counterpart Wale which he will be releasing in the coming months.
“It’s a lovely situation with MMG, it helps me get my foot in the door easier, but the grind is still the grind, that’s just one stepping stone up a long stairwell, you feel me?” Yowda explained. “I just came out to D.C. because Fat Trel came home, so we doing a reloaded of the ‘Fat & Ugly’ tape. We had dropped that tape before, but he had got incarcerated so we couldn’t really push it like we wanted to, but now we shooting a few music videos.”
In addition to with work with other members of MMG, Yowda has a few full collaborative projects in the works, including one with rising Bay Area talent Mozzy. He also has songs with Hoodrich Pablo Juan, Kevin Gates, Zoey Dollaz, Slim 400 and several other well known acts.
“This year is going to be a good year – I got a song with Wale, one with Kevin Gates, Zoey Dollaz, I got a tape with Mozzy, and another collab tape with Slim 400 that’s about to drop,” Yowda said. “If somebody comes to Vegas I put them in the studio and we usually end up getting a few songs done.”I try to go to the studio like it’s a regular job 5 days a week and 8-10 hours a day.
