Odell Beckham Jr.’s dad, Odell Beckham Sr., was reportedly arrested in Texas for “unlawful carrying of a weapon” and “possession of marijuana under 2 ounces.”

According to TMZ Sports, Beckham Sr. was arrested on Wednesday (October 25) after authorities claims that he was carrying a gun and weed on him. Beckham Sr. was booked and released on $5,000 bail. This comes after his son, Odell Jr. underwent ankle surgery earlier this month, after fracturing it during his game against the Los Angeles Chargers. OBJ will be out for the remainer of the season. Beckham Jr. missed the season opener against the Dallas Cowboys due to an ankle injury he suffered during the preseason, the same ankle he fractured.

Beckham Sr. played running back at LSU (Louisiana State University), gaining 757 yards and seven touchdowns from 1990-1992. His high school career earned him a mention in the recent ESPN documentary on the 1988 state champions from Dallas. Beckham Jr. was born in November, during his father’s senior year in Baton Rogue.
