After doing such a great job helping co-promoting McGregor vs Mayweather, UFC president Dana White is now getting into boxing promoting full time.

White announced on Tuesday he intends to remain in his current position with the UFC but is “100 percent” getting into boxing.

“No, no, no, I’m not leaving the UFC. I’m getting into boxing with [WME/IMG head] Ari [Emanuel] and the UFC will be doing boxing, too,” White told Lance Pugmire of the Los Angeles Times. “It’s still early. We’re still working on it. I’ve got to get my [stuff] together, but I’m getting into boxing, man. It’s coming.”

If you think about all the people involved in boxing, not a lot of people make a whole lot of money. There’s a handful of guys making all the money and the rest make nothing. If you think about the billions of dollars boxing has brought in, at the end of the day, what’s there? Nothing. Because there’s no brand. There’s a bunch of cowboys.

White did admit he and the UFC still have some work to do before they can launch their boxing endeavor.

It’s harder than saying we’re getting into boxing. We still have to get some homework done. I feel like I can do it better than everyone else. I love the sport.

Mostly, everything Dana touches turns to gold. With the recent success of UFC 217, the timing to get into boxing makes a lot of dollars and sense.
