According to the three-time NBA Champion, Madison Square Garden is his favorite place to play. Who can blame him? It’s nicknamed the Mecca. The bright lights and big stage of New York City shines on the stars. And every time Lebron makes a visit, he puts on an unforgettable show. Back in 2009, the four-time MVP, netted 52 points and almost recorded a triple-double. It was an offensive mirage for the ages and one that followed a clinic by Lakers legend, Kobe Bryant, who torched the Knicks for 61 points two nights before.

In addition, James’s comments about the Knicks passing up on Mavericks guard, Dennis Smith Jr., for point guard, Frank Ntilikina, fueled some of the Knicks players. They were selected 8th and 9th respectively in the 2017 draft. The three times finals MVP, cleared the air, saying that his discord is with the Knick’s ex- President of Basketball Operations, Phil Jackson, and not Ntilikina.

During and after the game

In an inbounds play after a James dunk, the rookie guard, Ntilikina, shoved LeBron multiples times, which resulted in Knicks center, Enis Kanter coming in defense for his teammate. Kanter, who was traded to the Knicks in the Camelo Anthony trade to OKC, had some words for King James after the game.

“I don’t care who you are, king whatever you call yourself, king, queen, princess,” stated Kanter. “Whatever you are, you know what, we gonna fight. And nobody out there gonna punk us.”

Kanter’s comments prompted LeBron’s clever and bold response. King James considers himself the king of New York and the NBA. With Cleveland’s struggle early in the season (7-7), they are in search positivity in any form. LeBron is the primary source for the Cav’s spark of confidence and upside to this season’s early woes.
