BET has a new web series titled Brooklyn. Blue. Sky. It’s an eight-episode web series about two former lovers (Skylar and Blue) who decide after much resistance to come together and create a pilot for a Netflix and Chill Show competition. In order for these two to work together, they must take a walk down memory lane and open up some wounds.

The series was created by Rhavynn Drummer and Dui Jarrod, who are no strangers to the film world. Rhavynn is an Atlanta-based creative director who started in the casting world at the Tyler Perry Studios. She’s worked on shows like If Loving You Is Wrong and The Have and Have Nots, as well as movies like The Family That Preys and Why Did I Get Married Too? Jarrod resides in Brooklyn and has worked for BET and MTV Voices. His most rewarding screenplay was “Lesson Before Love” which was names one of the years best by NewsOne and Rolling Out Magazine.

Multiple references to black culture are referenced in this web series that audiences can relate to. For instance, Blue wearing a Best Buy shirt as a reference to Insecure; the discussion of Tinder and Netflix; blocking your ex on Instagram and so much more.

The web series stars Jenelle Simone as Skylar, Michael Oloyede as Blue, La Rivers as Giselle, Shannon Wallace as Hawthorne, Adiagha Faizah as Simone, Roland Lane as Duncan, Nicolette Ellis as Charisse, and Maggie Caplis as Skylar’s best friend Ellie.
