After getting signed to Young Money in 2010, Cory made his first appearance on the original version of Lil Wayne‘s “A Milli track and then on “6 Foot, 7 Foot” Receiving such huge success after the singles release, Cory landed his own TV show on MTV with Nick Cannon called Son of a Gun, which consisted of six 20- minute episodes. Later on, he dropped three mixtapes, Dats WTF I’m Talkin’ bout, Son of a Gun, and Heir to the Throne.

Cory’s career was booming until January 28, 2012, he was arrested in the Bronx after being caught with a loaded gun.

Although he said he had no negative intentions to use the weapon, he was apologetic for his actions. Since then, many have wondered what happened to Gunz and could they expect any new music from the rapper. His dad, Peter Gunz, commented on his absence saying that he felt it was best to keep his son out of the public eye and out of trouble.

Yesterday, January 3rd, Cory posted a photo on his Instagram page of what looks like a mix-tape or album cover titled Tims N Hoodies, with the caption, “Keep thinking i’m playin.” His father later reposted the same picture with the caption “stay tuned.”

The cover resembles the front page of the New York Times dated January 28, 2012; the same date he was arrested.
