Style icon Dapper Dan has teamed up with high-end fashion brand Gucci to open up the first major luxury boutique in Harlem.
On Wednesday, Dapper Dan took to Twitter to announce the grand opening and give fans a rundown of services that will be offered in the elite high-end space.
“A sign of the times. For the 1st time in history, a major luxury brand store has opened in #Harlem,” he tweeted. “With made-to-order garments for your taste & in your specific measurements, I will create your design from your mind, or come up with a design for you.”
The appointment only boutique is slated to carry exclusive and limited ready-to-wear items and accessories that are innovative just like the collaboration. Dapper Dan wasn’t the only one spreading the news, along with the announcement of the new location, Gucci put up a giant billboard on a Harlem rooftop to announce the special partnership.
In addition to the grand opening of the boutique, the two icons are set to team up for another collaboration, this time a fashion collection set to launch this fall.
Dapper Dan rose to fame as a fashion icon by creating custom clothing including Gucci jackets for popular celebrities, sports athletes and rappers throughout the 1980s and early 1990s.
