Over the past few months, many victims have come forward with sexual harassment claims. Their brave act gave more victims the courage to speak out as well, which led to the viral movement #MeToo. Apparently boxer Floyd Mayweather, Jr. had no clue what has been going on. In an interview with Mens Health Magazine, his responses when asked about the movement were a little out of place. Some felt that they were even distasteful and downright disrespectful.

“The who?”

After the shocking surprise that Floyd in fact had no idea about the movement, the interviewer made an attempt to explain what it was:

“The #MeToo movement

The conversation took a negative turn when Mayweather made a joke on the subject:

“Oh cause when you say ‘me too’ my thing was this: When somebody be like ‘I got a Rolls Royce’, I be like Me Too! When somebody say they got a private jet, I say Me Too. I got two. Me Too!”

After such an awkward moment, the interviewer when into details to further explain what the movement meant. Floyd continued to make light of the situation ending the interview with “ I didn’t know. My Me Too movement from the beginning was whenever somebody said what they have I’m like, me too.

Eventually, Floyd Mayweather got it together and finally gave a decent response,

“I think if everyone, if you’re in an uncomfortable position, you have to pray about it, you know talk about it and I think that, you know sexual harassment, I don’t think it’s cool at all.”

Even the champ fumbles sometimes. Let’s  hope moving forward Mayweather’s publicist makes sure he is more aware about current topics before sending him in a big interview.
