And later this month, on January 31, the CNN political commentator and NPR political analyst will be hosting a special news program on BET titled, Angela Rye’s State of the Union. Exclusively reported by Blavity, the show hosted and executively produced by Rye is a quarterly news program that will tackle, ” deep into issues and stories affecting black America.” In a statement, Rye told Blavity that the special is reassurance on why her passion lies in politics and the importance of having a platform to discuss the black experience in America.

It is essential that we have platforms where we can discuss our politics, our challenges, and our culture through our respective lenses. The upcoming special will provide a glimpse of what’s to come with our partnership.”
