C-Murder, brother to No Limit Records CEO Percy “Master P” Miller and lieutenant to the legendary New Orleans squad, announced today that he will be spearheading a hunger strike in Angola State Prison due to allegations of poor medical care, physical abuse, rape, murder and general abuse of power by the administration at the facility.
C-Murder, whose real name is Corey Miller, claims that his and other inmates’ Constitutional Rights are consistently violated, prompting his hunger strike, which is in protest of Angola Prison, the Assistant Warden of ASP Barrett Boeker, Warden Darrel Vannoy, The Department of Corrections and James LeBlanc The Secretary of DOC. Miller and his attorneys assert that his platform as one of the pioneering Hip Hop figures in Louisiana will shed light to what they claim as inhumane conditions in one of the country’s most notorious prisons.
“Only in Angola can a Warden be arrested for rape and continue to serve as an officer in this Louisiana Penal System,” C-Murder said in an interview with AllHipHop.com. “This Warden has an abundant amount of racism and physical harm complaints against him from other inmates. We need an investigation now.”
Miller, who is serving a life sentence in Angola for the murder of a 16 year old outside of a La. nightclub, alleges that guards are covering up murders by officers and proclaiming to the state and family members of the deceased as suicides.
