Trymaine Lee has become an official correspondent on MSNBC. He will be on both weekend and nighttime programming. He will cover not only race and politics, but the discussion regarding law enforcement and the rampant violence in communities.

The Pulitzer Prize-winning reporter is definitely fit for the job. He has covered the deaths of Freddie Gray, Walter Scott and Eric Garner. He covered the protests in Ferguson which stemmed from the death of Michael Brown. “Geography of Poverty” was a series which Lee ran to discuss the poverty of communities including Flint, Michigan who still does not have clean water.

Lee has worked for the New York Times and Huffington Post but his coverage of the tragedy that was Hurricane Katrina is what solidified his career. The new correspondent will be a consistent face on AM Joy, All In With Chris Hayes, and The Last Word with Lawrence O’Donnell.
