College students often spend time figuring out what they want to do career-wise. For 2 Good Lo, it didn’t take long to discover his destiny while in college. And that destiny was music. After dabbling into music here and there with his roommates, the artist realized the depth of his newfound passion very quickly. The rapper spent his time listening to mixtapes from fellow artists, which is when he came upon his name. Once he realized how talented, or good, he really was, he adopted his stage name: 2 Good Lo. And the rest has been history.
2 Good Lo took a leap of faith in quitting his job last year to hone in even more on music. The rapper didn’t waste any time in the studio after making this decision. “In March, I dropped ‘The Good Life: Season 1’, and shot two videos for that. Then, in August, I dropped “The Good Life: Free Admission”, and then dropped three videos for that,” said the artist. Months later, 2 Good Lo is back to bringing the heat with “The Good Life: Season 2”, which he released just last week. In this method of releasing music, the rapper has seen a steady increase in his following with each project he drops. His social media is a true testament of this, as the followers are flooding in at an astounding rate.
Fans can find his newest mixtape on all digital music streaming platforms. His single, “Waves” featuring Rico Nasty, has been keeping his fans steadily buzzing, as it became an instant hit. The entire visual aspect down to the cover art for his latest project is completely unreal. “In the center of ‘The Good Life: Season 2’ album art, it’s me wearing a crown, because that’s what I’m chasing. On the left side, you have me in the white robe, and on the other side, I’m wearing a red robe. So, my conscious is playing a role in this whole mixtape as well. I’m speaking through myself in the project.” He plans to continue this process of accompanying each musical project with a visual to match.
Currently, 2 Good Lo is working on an EP, while ironing out the plans for the third installment of “The Good Life”. Visuals are what he is known for, and he shoots everything himself. From working with directors on the creative process to scouting the perfect location, 2 Good Lo dedicates himself to producing next-level visuals for his fans. “My vibe is fresh,” said 2 Good Lo. “It’s not exactly what you’re currently hearing on the radio, but it’s still fun, and it has a message. And the message is pretty much my good life, and what I’m striving to get to in a creative way.” Let’s just say, there is no carbon copy of 2 Good Lo: he truly embodies originality.
