On Thursday, Hot 97, along with Street Soldiers host Lisa Evers, hosted their annual Town Hall Meeting in the South Bronx to support embattled NYCHA residents in the fight for basic human rights.
A panel headed the meeting, with a panel led by Lisa Evers, including multi-platinum rapper Ja Rule and Bronx City Council member Ritchie Torres, both of whom grew up in New York City public housing.
With the problems facing tenants who live in NYCHA, such as those with no heat and others without clean water, Rule suggested the the people march on NYCHA, while the City Councilman asserts that “the government is the biggest slumlord.”
