National Signing Day was supposed to be the greatest day ever for high school athlete Jacob Copeland. The four-star wide receiver sat next to his mother as he accepted his offer to Florida, bypassing Tennessee and Alabama, committing to the Gators.
Unfortunately, his mother wasn’t having it, and instantly left her son’s side. Decked-out in full Alabama gear, she stomped off as soon as her son made the reveal, leaving him and reporters confused on why she did so.
Reporters asked, “why did you mother walk off?” Copeland’s response was, “ I’m not sure.”
Copeland had been paining over his decision, tweeting just before midnight on Tuesday that he cried all night thinking about it.
Throughout this entire recruiting process I never been as stressed as I am now. I cried and cried all last night about God leading me in the right directions. Now I don’t have over much as a day to decide on a school that’ll change my future after football. ?
