This year’s host will be comedian Dave Chappelle followed by surprise guests for a special ‘Jam session.’ Other confirmed acts for Roots Picnic ’18 include Lil Uzi Vert, Dirty Projectors, The Diplomats, Sun Ra Arkestra, BadBadNotGood, 2 Chainz, and Black Thought’s Live Mixtape ft. Fabolous and Jadakiss.  Usually, the Roots have collaborated with artist that they hadn’t performed with in past shows, so this should be exciting to witness.

“This year we’ve tried to vary the non- musical elements of the lineup. We see so many homogenous festival lineups, and we’ve always prided ourselves on trying to create unique moments for the Roots Picnic attendee that they can’t see anywhere else. The Roots headline collaborative set is always unique, and in addition we are very bullish on the podcast space, so we’ve decided to dedicate and program an entire stage with some of the best culturally relevant podcast,” said Shawn Gee, The Roots manager and President of Live Nation Urban.

In addition to the music stage, Roots Picnic will also feature a Podcast stage which will host live podcasts such as Drink Champs, On One with Angela Rye and much more. Along with that they’ll also have a lifestyle stage that offers a Madden & NBA2k tournament, a fashion panel, art panel, hustle panel and an art market featuring local vendors called The Market. Pre-sale will be available for CITI card members and tickets for the general public will go on sale beginning Friday, Feb. 16 at 12 p.m.
