First Ronda Rousey and now possibly Rob Gronkowski?

According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the WWE is looking to sign Gronk and they’re prepared to offer him a deal similar to the one they gave  Rousey, who made her WWE debut at the Royal Rumble PPV last month.

After the Super Bowl, Gronk wasn’t sure if he is ready to commit to another NFL.When asked about the possibility of retiring from football following New England’s Super Bowl LII loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, Gronkowski said, “I’m definitely gonna look at my future. We’ll sit down in the next couple of weeks and see where I’m at.”

Gronkowski has already been part of a WWE storyline so it’s not surprising that the WWE is looking to lure him back into a part-time role. The 28-year old tight end helped his good friend, WWE wrestler Mojo Rawley, win the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal at Wrestlemania 33 last April. He also made an appearance a few nights after Wrestlemania and got involved in another of Rawley’s matches.

According to TMZ Sports, Rawley recently described Gronk joining WWE by saying, “It’s not a matter of if, it’s a matter of WHEN,” before back peddling and adding, “I don’t know. I can’t speak for him. Whatever he wants to do.”
