Tekashi 6ix9ine is dropping his debut album, Day 69 on Friday, and three days before its release he is revealing the track list. The 11-track LP features the certified Platinum smash hit “Gummo” as well as his other Billboard accomplishments “Kooda” and “KeKe” featuring Fetty Wap and A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie. The Brooklyn rapper also has the “Gummo” remix featuring Migos rapper Offset. Tory Lanez and Young Thug are also featured on the album for a song titled “Rondo.”
6ix9ine and Tory Lanez teased a collaborative track a while ago but nothing was ever released. The song that the two once teased on Instagram could most likely be the “Rondo” track although they could have other material together in the vault.
The rapper is scheduled to perform his first show since the track list reveal in San Antonio.
Tekashi has told his followers that he signed recording contract with Universal Music Group and Cash Money for somewhere between $7.5 million and $15 million but it seems that the 21-year-old may have been trolling and is releasing his debut album independently.
The rumors circulated after 6ix9ine himself posted a photo on Instagram of himself with Birdman and Young Thug and the caption “Just signed to Birdman Rich Gang 15 million.” There has been no confirmation that this deal ever happened.
As 6ix9ine was preparing this album, he had other issues at hand. The rapper was issued a court order to pass his GED or serve three years in prison following a guilty plea to charges related to sexual misconduct with a minor.
He is also coming off of a dramatic display of violence during and following a show in Minnesota during Super Bowl Weekend. Videos surfaced the “Gummo” rapper and his entourage having projectiles thrown at them during the performance and then afterward being confronted by what appeared to be local Minneapolis residents.
The confrontation resulted in gun fire but no reported injuries or fatalities. Regardless, 6ix9ine is still making moves and his February 23 release date is looking to be a big day in the rapper’s young career.
