The Pelicans All-Star has been playing lights out. In his past six games, he has averaged 41.5 points, 14.8 rebounds, 3.2 blocks and 3 steals. Additionally, the Pelicans are undefeated in that six-game stretch.

Skip Bayless is renowned for uniquely critiquing NBA players in the past, most notably and often at LeBron James. In this instance, he takes a jab at Pelicans big man, Davis.

The Pelicans had a response to Bayless’ underrated comments.

Davis is currently averaging 28.2 points and 11.5 rebound per game this season, while shooting 54 perfect from the field. His lost his partner in crime, Boogie Cousins, after an Achilles tear sidelined him for the season. Since then, he has upped his play and is slowly creeping his way into the MVP conversation. Davis came into the NBA in 2012 after winning a national championship at Kentucky. He was selected first overall and won a gold medal with TEAM USA in the London Summer Olympics. Since entering the league, Davis’ growth has made him a premier talent.

As you can see, the Pelicans clearly proved Skip’s senseless opinion. Players who score 50 point double doubles in the NBA, are extremely rare.

The Pelicans are currently tied for 5th place in the Western Conference playoff race. They are looking to make some noise in the playoffs, although their second all-star will miss this year’s post season.
