The single, “Top Off” literally dropped at 6 am on Friday (Mar 2) and has had people talking ever since. The star-studded single features Jay and Bey doing what they do best, drip in swag but this time they have added a twist. The ultra-private pair decided to throw a few shots at their critics and shade while still keeping it low key.

The DJ Khaled produced song kicks off with Future on the hook singing in his signature style, “I took the top off the Maybach,” before Hov starts shredding the mic apart. Jay opens his verse showing support for the release of fellow MC, Meek Mill. Hov has actively been vocal about a criminal justice reform and his activism led to the release of documentaries about the life of both Kalief Browder and Trayvon Martin. The latter led to Hov receiving death threats from acquitted murderer George Zimmerman, which he addresses clearly in his verse.

“Screamin’, ‘Free my nigga, Meek Mill’/N—-s can’t wheelie in this free world/ Meanwhile Georgie Porgie sinnin’ and sendin’ me threats/Save your breath, you couldn’t beat a flight of steps/Try that shit with a grown man/I’ll kill that fuckboy with my own hand.”

But it wasn’t all Jay who was sending shots on the mic, Beyonce steps in the booth to spit a verse at who many have thought to be Kim Kardashian-West and Tiffany Haddish after Bey utilizes Kim’s semi-coined phrase “break the internet”, when she throws the jab that she is number one and all natural.

“I break the internet, top two and I ain’t number two/My body, my ice, my cash, all real, I’m a triple threat.”

The shade at comedienne Tiffany Haddish may have come from her recent appearance on TVOne’s Uncensored where she spilled the beans about an unnamed actresses unwanted advances towards Hov at a private party thrown by the couple, in which Haddish said:

“She touched JAY-Z’s chest and Beyoncé came walking up like…’Biitttchhh!’ But, she didn’t say that. But her demeanor, her body from the way she walked up on them said, ‘Get your hands off my man’s chest.'”

Beyoncé threw a line her way letting it be known that anyone wanting to party with her will need to sign a nondisclosure agreement.

“If they’re tryna party with the queen, They gon’ have to sign a non-disclosure, ayy.”

Clearing up any confusion, Tiffany Haddish took to Twitter to address the rumor and revealed that if she is indeed on the receiving end of the Bey shade, she has no problem complying with the new rules stating she would gladly sign the NDA.
